Change Control Management

Changes to what was envisaged at Tender Stage are unavoidable in the Construction Industry for all but the smallest of contracts; and are often caused by reoccurring themes, such as unforeseen ground conditions, due to the inaccuracy or inadequacy of trial hole information, meaning actual CBR results aren’t suitable for the planned construction above.

Consequently, it is imperative at the outset of any project to have a clear strategy of how to manage this, and Adeo can provide the necessary staff to enable effective Change Control Management via a dedicated team or individual for this vital work.

Indeed, under the NEC Form of Contract ‘changes’ are specifically isolated from other areas of the Contract, and therefore it is often best to run these independently from Tendered Works via a separate team, which Adeo could provide. This enables clarity and ease of valuation for the additional staff necessary for the relevant Compensation Events derived from the changes themselves.

Our experience also dictates that it is highly beneficial to conduct ‘Lessons Learnt’ meetings afterwards to ensure that project successes are repeated while mistakes are corrected and historically Adeo has often participated in this process.
